Lakers hang on late to go up 3-1 in the series over the Heat
Los Angeles- Anthony Davis hit a dagger late in the game to seal the victory over the Heat, 102-96.
In a Game the Lakers needed to keep the pesky Heat from gaining confidence, Anthony Davis had a very slow start and did not really score until the third quarter. Lebron James, Danny green, and Kentavious Caldwell Pope picked up the slack for the Lakers. Midway in the third, the Lakers started pulling away and went up seven. The Heat kept fighting back and went on a 6-0 run to cut the Lakers to one. At the end of the third, the Lakers was nursing a five point lead, 75-70.
James started to take over the game midway in the fourth. He had a couple of block shots and hit a couple of threes to extend the Lakers lead. Outside of James, the Lakers could not really get anything going. Collectively, LA was shooting around 44% and 40% behind the arc.
KCP attacked the Heat and scored two crucial buckets with under three minutes left to put the Lakers up seven. Davis iced the game with a three point jumper with .40 seconds left to seal the victory for the Lakers. The Lakers had four players in double figures.
