Jordan Whittington is making strides early on in preseason

Jordan Whittington made his NFL debut with the Los Angeles Rams against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening. He hauled in six catches for 74 yards and provided tough yards after the catch. Whittington showed the world he belongs in the NFL as he took a brutal hit from Cowboy DB Juanyeh Thomas on a critical 3rd down possession, late in the 2nd quarter.

He held on to the ball after enduring the jarring blast, and immediately bounced up…taking his “WELCOME TO THE NFL” moment in stride.  He led the Rams in receptions although the Rams QB Stetson Bennett struggled.  Whittington was a reliable model of receiving consistency for the Rams.  He looked like a seasoned veteran as he displayed physical strength, blazing speed in open space, making him a threat every time he stepped to the line of scrimmage.

The facts are, Whittington put on an amazing performance in his first real NFL contest.  Usually, a 6th rounder is on the bubble of making the squad’s final cut.  If Whittington continues to shine in pre-season competition and cross his t’s and dot his i’s in camp, he should make the team.
