Jermell Charlo promises Castaño will be put to sleep if he does not change how he fights
After a tie in the first fight between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano, they are running it back again to decide who will be the undisputed super welterweight champion.
Last year Jermell did not look like himself in the ring against Castano. He had trouble putting together rounds, looked frustrated as Castano jabbed him the entire time, and did not look like the Jermell that people are used to seeing. Jermell stated that this time around, he is trying to end it early and not go the distance.
“I’m excited and I’m ready to go. I’m ready to rock. I’m putting it all on the line and I’m ready to destroy. I’m going to give the fans an exciting and entertaining show and just have fun out there. Castaño is going to have to do something different this fight. If not, he knows he’s getting slept. Whatever he does or whatever move he makes, I’m going to be on him. My goal is to knock him out."
In the last fight, Jermell turned it on in the last two rounds by letting his hands go and not thinking too much. When he did that, it seemed like Castano had no answer how to counter the combinations and those two rounds saved Jermell and his belt. It will be very interesting to see if Jermell becomes the hunter this time around.
The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast starts at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT
