Jalen Hurts answers critics question about his arm in a victory over the Lions 38-35
Philadelphia- Jalen Hurts gets a W over the Lions, going 18 out of 32 for 243 yards through the air and 90 yards on the ground.

A new season for Jalen Hurts would start against the Detroit Lions on Opening Day of the NFL. Prior to the season, Hurts have been one of the quarterbacks that have been on a semi-hot seat and the most talked about, since getting AJ Brown in the trade. Some people think that Hurts will be the Eagles franchise quarterback if Nick Sirianni would take the training wheels off of Hurts and allow him to throw more passes down the field, instead of running the slower' version of the Chip Kelly' RPO playbook.
Hurts have been praised by his peers and his coach on how he has handled the pressure with improving his technique as well as being optimistic about his approach to the game. With the "talk" of his improvements, let's see how they fared in opening day against the Lions. Welp, the first half for Philadelphia was something of a roller coaster. The first few possessions Hurts was a little off with his throws, but early in the second quarter the offense exploded. Philadelphia scored 24 points. The questions about Hurts' arm were answered. Hurts was having the game of his life with completing his passes at a 53% clip.
Philadelphia took the heart out of the Lions and made them into cubs trying to find their pack in the second half. On both sides of the ball, the Eagles' dominated the game and forced the Lions to speed up their process. Things got interesting late in the third. The Eagles' secondary allowed the Lions to score two touchdowns to cut it to 10. Let's take it to the fourth quarter. Philadelphia had no answer with stop the Lion's offense, as they scored late into the fourth to cut the Eagles' lead to a field goal.
Clinging onto a three point lead, Miles Saunders gave the Eagles a bit of breathing room with a 50-yard scamper. On a fourth and short, Hurts ended the Lions' comeback with a quarterback sneak to give the Eagles a huge victory.
