ISSA RAE TO BE HONOURED WITH THE PANDORA LEADER OF CHANGE AWARD AT THE FASHION AWARDS 2024

An individual who leads with innovation to create positive change globally is honored with the Pandora Leader of Change Award.   Their constant challenge to the status quo makes them stand out.   In addition to being progressive, their work is forward-looking, empowering, and progressive.   By using their platform, they are able to positively shift perceptions as a result of their deep commitment to moving the dial when it comes to authentic representation as a result of their deep commitment to changing perceptions.

Rae first gained attention for her award-winning web series and accompanying best-seller, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.   In the web series, Rae addresses the lack of representation of Black female characters on screen. She created and starred in the Peabody-award-winning HBO series, INSECURE, which garnered her multiple nominations for Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards.   Black love and relationships were authentically portrayed in INSECURE.   A multi-faceted media company, HOORAE, was established by Rae in 2020 to create content across all mediums and break boundaries in storytelling.

Beyond her work in acting and content creation, Issa Rae has made significant strides as a producer and entrepreneur. She has invested in and supported numerous projects that amplify underrepresented voices in the industry. Additionally, Rae is an advocate for diversity and inclusion, using her platform to champion social change and empower the next generation of storytellers.
