INVESTMENT AND OPERATING COMPANY 'PLAYER 15 GROUP' IS ANNOUNCED BY MAT ISHBIA

There is an emerging sports, entertainment, and real estate operating and investment company called Player 15 Group. This company was created by Mat Ishbia, owner of the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), and the Phoenix Suns NBA G League affiliate. 

The purpose of Player 15 is to honor the last player on the team who does not get that last position because of their individual talents, but rather because of what they bring to the team. Player 15 is the ultimate team player. 

 Player 15 Group will serve as Ishbia’s operating and investment company for holdings across sports, entertainment, and real estate. Player 15 Group includes the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, operating the downtown Phoenix arena, and the $100 million development of the Suns and Mercury team member campus and dedicated Mercury practice facility.

It was announced by Ishbia last October that plans were underway for the development of a team member business headquarters and a state-of-the-art practice facility for the Phoenix Mercury. Phoenix’s Warehouse District downtown will be the location of a new development that will involve a $100 million investment and cover 123,000 square feet.

When asked about the upcoming investment, Mat Ishbia said: “Being a part of a team is the best experience in the world. You support one another, bring out the highest level in each other, and you win,” said Ishbia. “I was a walk-on at Michigan State and the 15th player on the roster. I made the team because I put everything into it. It defines me to this day, and I want it to define the culture of our work across sports and entertainment.
