Hulu Unveils First Look at “Good American Family” – A Compelling New Original Series

Patricia Scott

Hulu has released first look images for its upcoming original series, “Good American Family,” set to premiere on March 19, 2025. This eight-episode series will debut with two episodes, followed by the release of one episode weekly.

“Good American Family” delves into the complexities of perspective, bias, and trauma, told through multiple points of view. The gripping drama is inspired by unsettling real-life stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopt a girl with a rare form of dwarfism. As they integrate her into their family, raising her alongside their three biological children, unsettling mysteries surface regarding her age and background. The adoptive parents begin to suspect that she may not be who she claims to be, leading to a dramatic confrontation where they must defend their family against someone, they once considered their daughter. As tensions rise, the adopted girl fights her own battle to confront her past, culminating in a showdown that plays out in both the tabloids and the courtroom.

The series features a talented cast, including Ellen Pompeo, Mark Duplass, and Imogen Reid in leading roles. Notable recurring guest stars include Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara.

“Good American Family” is created and executive produced by Katie Robbins, who collaborates with executive producer Sarah Sutherland. Ellen Pompeo also serves as an executive producer through her production company, Calamity Jane, along with Laura Holstein. The executive production team includes Andrew Stearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Mike Epps, with Liz Garbus directing and executive producing the pilot episode. The limited series is produced by 20th Television.
