Guenther retains world heavyweight title at WWE Bash in Berlin

For the first time in WWE history, a premium live event was held in Germany, and it didn’t disappoint. WWE Bash in Berlin was the highest grossing event in WWE. It was the third time this year the WWE has made that announcement. The card in total had five matches, three of which were title matches. Of the title matches one changed hands as Bianca Belaire and Jade Cargil became the new women’s tag team champions.

Undisputed WWE Championship match: Cody Rhodes (c.) vs. Kevin Owens-

This was a very good match. The story WWE was trying to tell in this match was will Kevin Owens turn on his friend Cody Rhodes the way he has done in the past against other men he has called friends. Owens appeared to have the upper hand on Rhodes early on. Even when Rhodes would get Owens into position for a Crossrhodes, Owens would escape the hold and attempt a counter of his own. The match would bounce back and forth between both competitors for a long while afterwards. Rhodes would land more hits, and had several opportunities to win the match, including a Cody cutter from the ropes. Another narrative was Rhodes having an injured knee. Rhodes' knee would buckle several times, and Owens wouldn’t attack or looked timid to go for the kill. Owens showed mercy, and it came back to bite him. Cody Rhodes won the match after countering a swanton by putting his knees up. That was the turning point Rhodes needed to secure the victory.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre vs. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair-

The match began with all four women in the ring before Cargill landed a massive backbreaker to send Dawn outside the ring and allowed Belair and Fyre to officially start the match. Belair and Cargill maintained the majority of the early offense, showcasing their chemistry, power and athleticism. It was a crazy final sequence that  saw a near-fall by the challengers and several counters before Cargill was able to pull Belair out of harm's way by her signature ponytail. Fyre's top-rope maneuver accidentally  hit Dawn and the team of Cargill and Belair was finally able to land a tandem finisher and win back the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match-

The rivalry is now tied at 1-1 and it’s hard not to think there won’t be a rubber match at Bad Blood. The match started off hot as Punk made his entrance, McIntyre went for a cheap shot and began to batter Punk outside the ring. McIntyre slammed Punk on the announce table and whipped him with the strap twice before the match began. Punk regained his energy by hitting his rival with a GTS. Both men made their way outside the ring and Punk jogged to the ring apron to look for more weapons, allowing McIntyre to regain himself briefly and attempt a Future Shock DDT on the announce table. Punk was able to counter into a back-body drop onto the announce table and finally was able to retrieve a folding table from under the ring. As the match returned inside the ropes, McIntyre landed a Claymore Kick and touched three of the four turnbuckles. Punk, leaped outside the ring and pulled McIntyre head-first into the chair he set up earlier. Punk was able to hit three turnbuckles of his own before McIntyre broke his momentum and sent Punk crashing through a folding table outside the ring.

Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley vs. Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan-

Priest and Mysterio started the action off, with Mysterio running from Priest.Priest, delivering aggressive blows to the Judgment Day member. As the crowd chanted "we want mami," Priest delivered a big boot and went to tag in Ripley. Mysterio tagged Morgan in first. Once the women were in the ring, the match remained largely the same, with Ripley showcasing her physical dominance. Morgan retreated to the corner and tagged in Mysterio, which brought Priest back into the action per the mixed-tag match rules. After Ripley sent Morgan crashing to the floor, she instructed Priest to destroy Mysterio and then the rest of the Judgment Day interfered. Morgan took out Ripley with a sunset flip powerbomb, Finn Balor took out Priest with a slingblade and then Mysterio hit a 619 and frog splash, but Priest kicked out. Priest single handedly destroyed the entire faction, including a huge clothesline on top of the announce table, Ripley recovered to land a headbutt and Riptide on Morgan for the win

World Heavyweight Championship match: Gunther (c.) vs. Randy Orton-

The Berlin crowd was really electric for this match.Gunther was first to gain a true upper hand. Gunther began to focus on the neck of Orton, twisting his head with his feet and then locking Orton's head against the ring post. In similar fashion, when Orton managed to mount offense he focused on Gunther's right shoulder/arm, sending him into the steel steps twice.Orton sent Gunther back into the ring and the champion hit the challenger with a chop. Selling the arm injury, Gunther's chop did not knock Orton down like it did previously in the match. Orton attempted an RKO, but Gunther countered into a sleeper hold. Both men locked on a specific body part. Orton dragged Gunther back into the ring, unable to win the championship off a count out. As Orton set up the RKO, Gunther shoved him and then pounced, locking in a sleeper in the middle of the ring. A desperate Orton attempted to break the hold, but he maintained the choke. It appeared as if Orton was going to break it and hit an RKO, but Gunther reapplied. Another counter was unsuccessful as Gunther immediately rallied to lock in the sleeper a third time and win the match. After the match, the crowd gave both men a standing ovation and Guenther shook Orton's hand in a sign of respect.
