Gracie Awards going virtual for the second consecutive year
Los Angles- For the second consecutive year, the Gracie Awards will be held virtually.
Despite, the optimism of having a live awards ceremony a couple months ago, the event coordinators for the Gracie Awards decided to go virtual. With the rise of Covid-cases, everyone felt like this was the best play to recognize the honorees in a safe and comfortable environment.
Taylor Swift, Hilary Clinton, Kelly Clarkson, and more will be honored for their contributions to educational programs and how they helped women in media in a positive way. The annual awards will be hosted by actress and comedian Lauren Ash and will feature performances by Jewel and GRAMMY award-winning American Gospel Singer CeCe Winans.
“Lauren’s comedic spirit and incredibly talented performers will create a Gracies to remember... and worthy of our 70th anniversary celebration,” said Becky Brooks, President, Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. “We will inspire and entertain our friends, fans, and followers with this year’s virtual event, and look forward to raising a glass together, in person next year to celebrate the accomplishments of women in media.”
The virtual event will start October 5, 2021 at 7:00 PM ET/PT.
