Gamecocks get their first victory of the season

What a nice way for the South Carolina Gamecocks to start the season. Chloe Kitts had 19 points and 14 rebounds, Tessa Johnson scored 15 and Joyce Edwards added 10 points for South Carolina. 68-62 was the final score in Monday's Hall of Fame Series between the Gamecocks and Michigan.


 This victory sets a positive tone for South Carolina's season, demonstrating their strength and potential against a competitive team like Michigan. It also boosts the team's confidence and morale as they aim for a successful season ahead. Additionally, the standout performances by key players like Chloe Kitts highlight the team's depth and skill.


Michigan played competitively throughout the game and got to within 64-62 with 22 seconds left, but South Carolina held on from there. Syla Swords led Michigan with 27 points and 12 rebounds and Jordan Hobbs had 19 points.

South Carolina plays N.C. State on Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
