Foo Fighters will receive first MTV US Global Icon Award at the 2021 VMA's

New York- For the first time in their career, the Foo Fighters will be honored with the US Global Icon Award during this years' VMA's.

On Thursday it was announced that the iconic group Foo Fighters will be honored during one of the biggest nights in music history. The VMA's will recognize the group and award them the first ever MTV US Global Icon Award.

Prior to the announcement, it seemed like the Foo Fighters was going to have one busy night. They will be performing for the first time since 2007 and have been nominated in three categories; Best Rock, Best Choreography, and Best Cinematography for "Shame".

The VMA's will broadcast live September 12 at 8 PM, ET.
