Fever's Cinderella's season comes to a close in epic game against Sun 87-81

With their backs to the wall, facing elimination, the Fever wanted to get back to playing their up-tempo basketball. In the first game, Sniper Clark was not aggressive enough and only had 11 points to her name. Kelsey Mitchell was the only one who had a good game, but let's see how they fared in a must win game.

The Fever started out the game on a frantic gust of offense. Clark and Mitchell connected on a few threes and jumped out to a lead early on. Despite the early offensive blur, Aliyah Boston ended up having two fouls, which put her on the bench in the first quarter. Things started to get testy as Clark got into it with a heckling fan as well as DeWanna Bonner late into the quarter. You could tell that Clark was frustrated with how the refs were calling the game. For the most part of the half, the Fever looked out of sync. They were ice cold and had a seven-minute drought. until they caught fire and went on a 7-2 run to cut the Sun's lead to single digits at the half.

Indiana came flying out the half and went on a 12-6 run to get themselves back in the game. Clark and Mitchell were cooking, but on the defensive end, they had trouble stopping the Sun. Going into the fourth quarter, the Fever was down nine and looked gassed. Things got a bit interesting as the Fever got their offense rolling late and cut the Sun's lead to five with under five minutes left in regulation. With under two minutes left in the game, both teams were exchanging blow after blow after blow. It seemed like whoever got a stop defensively was going to win the game. Indiana left Marina Mabrey and Mabery drained the go-ahead bucket to shock the Fever. Clark finished with 25 points and 9 assists.
