Falcons hang on to beat the Panthers 25-17
Atlanta-.The Falcons picked off Teddy Bridewater late in the fourth quarter to get their second win of the season.
After a slow start in the first quarter with the Falcons only scoring field goals, Matt Ryan started to heat up in the second quarter. He threw a couple of 20-yard passes down the field to Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley to put the Falcons in position to score a touchdown. The Falcons punched it in the endzone to cut the Panthers' lead to one, 14-13. Before the end of the half Atlanta kicked a field goal to go up 16-14 at the break. Despite the lead, the Falcons lost their second option wide receiver mid-way in the second quarter. Ridley had a left foot injury and was questionable to return to the game.
In the second half, the Falcons' offense struggled to get into the endzone and had to settle for another field goal mid-way in the third. Atlanta did their job on the defensive end. The Panthers went for it on a fourth and short twice and both times the Falcons stuffed them. In the fourth quarter the Falcons started to pull away. Todd Gurley extend the Falcons' lead with a six-yard touchdown run, but the Falcons missed a field goal to make it a one possession game, 25-17.
With three minutes left in regulation, the Falcons' defense gave up some huge plays down the field, as the Panthers were driving for a game tying score. The Falcons' defense came up big, as they picked off Bridgewater with .45 ticks on the clock to escape with their second victory of the season.

Julio Jones finished with 7 receptions for 137 yards
Todd Gurley finished with 46 yards and 1 touchdown
