ESPN signs Cam Newton

Newton’s role includes appearances on First Take, beginning Oct. 11 at Tennessee State for First Take’s HBCU roadshow

You can start lighting up your cigars and putting on your big hats because ESPN has agreed to a contract with former NFL MVP Cam Newton. The deal calls for him to primarily comment on ESPN's trademark morning debate show, First Take, with Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim. During First Take's HBCU roadshow this fall, Newton will debut today at Tennessee State University.

The former NFL MVP joins a list of personalities on First Take including Smith and Qerim. In addition, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, Sirius XM’s Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, and many others. It's going to be interesting to see how they mix it up together because there is a lot of talent on this list
