Elaine Thompson Herah edges out Sha'carri Richardson in Pre Classic 100 M
Elaine Thompson Herah once again proved to the world that she is the 'speeding bullet' in the women's 100 M.
As the gun sounded to start the race, Herah had gotten out the blocks much slower than her previous race. With 60 meters left in the race, she turned on the jets and held off a late comeback from Sha'carri Richardson. Herah was clocked at 10.79, while Richardson had a season best of 10.92.
Despite some of Herah's injuries that she has sustained this season, she is more motivated to overcome them. “To keep the fire going, it’s a challenge sometimes, especially when you have bumps in the road,” Thompson-Herah said. “I am a fighter, and every champion has something they’re fighting.”
