Eagles show fight in game winning drive against the Giants, 22-21
Philadelphia- The Eagles make a late comeback to defeat the Giants 22-21.
Coming off a gutsy loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia Eagles were eager to play a winded New York Giants team with the spotlight on them on Thursday Night Football. The Eagles got a little bit unconventional with going for it on a fourth and one on their opening drive.Philadelphia successfully converted the down and three plays later, Carson Wentz scored on a one-yard keeper to strike blood first, 7-0. The Giants responded with a touchdown of their own to tie the game up, 7-7.
Late in the second quarter, the Eagles tacked on a field goal to go up three, 10-7 in the half. The Giants took the lead early in the second half after they scored a touchdown to make it a 14-10 game. Both teams struggled offensively and each team's punters had a very busy night. One of the key moments of the game came in the fourth quarter. The Eagles was sitting at the two- yard line with a fourth and goal. Wentz tried to through a crossing pass to one of his wide receivers, but the Giants' defense broke up the pass.
Daniel Jones hooked up with Sterling Shepard for another touchdown score to go up 21-10. On the ensuing possession, Wentz drove his team down the field and scored a touchdown. The Eagles went for the two point conversion, but could not convert, 21-16. With under .50 seconds left in regulation, Wentz threw a game winning touchdown to Boston Scott for the go ahead victory to take first place in a banged up NFC East division.
