Eagles lost their competitive edge in a blowout loss to the Bucs 32-9
Coming into the game against the Bucs, Philadelphia had so much going on behind the scenes. There was speculation that Coach Nick Sirianni was on the hot seat, as well as an internal conflict with the play calling between coach and quarterback. Jalen Hurts was not playing into the speculation and said that he was focused on the task at hand with trying to get a victory over Tampa Bay.
Without their star wide receiver in AJ Brown, Philadelphia needed to have a collective effort offensively to win the game. Like the last few weeks, the Eagles' secondary was getting burned for big plays down the field. Tampa had the Eagles on their heel's majority of the half as they gashed them for 242 yards and put up 16 points on the birds. Despite being down 16-9 at half, the Eagles felt good only being down one possession.
I don't know what was said in the locker room, but the Eagles did not have any type of fire coming out of the locker room in the second half. Missed tackles and missed assignments was a repeated offense that the Eagles were committed to. A lot of players looked like they were emotionally tired and did not play to their level that fans were used to seeing in the first half of the season. With their season ending like this, there will be a lot of discussions and potential releases of certain individuals within the organization.
