Eagles are in position for the NO#1 seed

Eric Martinez

With the Philadelphia Eagles potentially clinching the NFC East, the battle for Pennsylvania was on display at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon.  The Pittsburgh Steelers came into the game with a 10-3 record.  The Eagles accumulated 401 total yards with quarterback Jalen Hurts completing 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards and two passing touchdowns adding 1 rushing touchdown.

Wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both added 1 touchdown each and both caught for over 100+ yards respectively.  The Eagles defense held Pittsburgh to 23% on 3rd down conversions and only 10 total first downs in the entire game.  NFL MVP candidate Saquon Barkley carried the ball 19 times for 65 yards and failed to gain 100 yards rushing; however still leads the NFL with 1,688 yards.  Barkley did sustain a right knee injury that forced him to sit out the entire second quarter, but later returned to the game and said the injury wasn’t serious.  The Eagles now have won a franchise record 10 straight wins.  Philadelphia will travel to Washington to face a 9-5 Commanders team next Sunday to attempt to keep pace for the number 1 overall seed in the NFC.  Pittsburgh still leads the AFC North with a 10-4 record and heads to Baltimore for a rivalry game next Saturday.
