With their second win of the season, the Atlanta Dream are back on track after beating the Dallas Wings 83-78 at home. Allisha Gray scored 21 points. Despite the Dream suffering an eight-point deficit at halftime, they rallied from that deficit and took the lead at 63-62 early in the fourth quarter after Naz Hillmon converted a layup. 69-64 was the score when Aerial Powers buried an 18-footer with seven minutes left in the game to give Atlanta the advantage.
It didn't take long for the teams to trade baskets until Gray hit a second-chance 3-pointer with five minutes left to give the Dream a 74-68 lead. With 2 1/2 minutes remaining in the game, Monique Billings hit two free throws to bring Dallas within 80-76, and Teaira McCowan hit a pair from the line with 40 seconds left to reduce the score to 81-78. McCowan fouled Aerial Powers while blocking a layup with 13 seconds left, and Powers made both free throws for a five-point advantage. Arike Ogunbowale missed a 3-pointer for Dallas as time expired after a Powers rebound.
Cheyenne Parker-Tyus had 16 points, Rhyne Howard 15, Tina Charles 12 and Powers 10 for Atlanta (2-1). Howard and Charles recorded double doubles with 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
