Doja Cat will perform at the 2021 VMA's
On Tuesday, MTV revealed the second round of performers slated to perform at the 2021 ‘VMAs’. Chlöe, Doja Cat, Shawn Mendes and Twenty One Pilots will join a stacked lineup which already consists of Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, LORDE, Machine Gun Kelly, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Chlöe will make her solo debut on the stage with her first single, “Have Mercy,” from her upcoming solo album. In 2018, the duo Chloe x Halle was named MTV PUSH artists and they graced last year’s Pre-Show with a performance of “Ungodly Hour.”
Doja Cat makes her return to the ‘VMAs’, trying to repeat her outstanding 2020 performance. Last year, she performed a "Say So" & "Like That” mash-up and took home her first-ever Moon Person for “PUSH Best New Artist.” This year, she wants to keep up the ante and deliver another great performance. She’s also up for five awards, including two of the night’s highest honors “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year.”
Shawn Mendes is a ‘VMAs’ veteran and will also be making a return to the stage. In 2019, he gave the audience what they wanted, performing hits “If I Can’t Have You” and his duet of "Señorita" with Camila Cabello. Mendes will debut a performance of his latest hit single "Summer Of Love" and look to take home the trophy for “Best Pop.”
After headlining a performance with A$AP Rocky in 2015, Twenty One Pilots will return to the ‘VMAs’ stage with a performance of their hit single “Saturday” and compete to take home their third Moon Person for “Best Alternative.”
The MTV ‘VMAs’ will take place live from Barclays Center on Sunday, September 12 at 8PM ET.
