Dodgers offense gets cold in late innings
Los Angeles- Dodgers' offense freezes up late against the Colorado Rockies and dropped their first game of the season 8-5.
The Dodgers got off to a hot start early on, but it did not last long. LA allowed two consecutive scores by the Rockies in the fifth, sixth, and seventh inning to go down three scores. The Dodgers had a chance to tie up the game in the eighth with runners on all three bases, but Chris Owings got the Rookies out of trouble with a double out.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Dodgers failed to get any type of offense rolling and eventually walked away with a loss in their opener. “We didn’t play a good baseball game today. We gave away too many bases,” Dave Roberts said. “Knowing baseball, it’s a long season. There’s going to be some games like this where the rhythm just wasn’t clean.”
