Dodgers go up 2-0 in the series

Electricity was in the air at Dodgers Stadium after game 1 of the world series that ended in a walk-off grand slam for Los Angeles.  To start off game 2, a Los Angeles icon took to the stage prior to the first pitch to hype up the crowd and the Dodgers’ players themselves.  Ice Cube had Yankees players and even Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, reciting lyrics but also joining in as they watched a concert break out prior to an important World Series game.

As far as the actual game, Dodgers pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, had full control on the mound.  Besides giving up a homerun to Juan Soto in the top of the third, Yamamoto pitched what some called a master class.  His Four-seam fastball, curveball, cutter, and slider were almost unhittable.  He ended the night picking up the win and pitched 6.1 Innings, allowing only 1 hit on 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.

Los Angeles provided plenty of run support for Yamamoto with center-fielder, Tommy Edman, homering to left field in the bottom of the 2nd inning followed by a game-winning 3rd inning 3-run home run to right center by Teoscar Hernandez followed up on a back-to-back home run by one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, Freddie Freeman to extend the Yankees lead 4 to 1. The Yankees went 5 scoreless innings after Juan Soto hit a solo home run in the 3rd.  New York’s starting pitcher lasted 3.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 earned runs.  Carlos Rodon did not seem in control early in the game and seemed to be missing his pitches leaving over the plate hanging breaking balls and fastballs in the hot zone for most Dodgers’ batters.  The Yankees did tack on a run in the top of the 9th inning, but stranded bases loaded and now took a 0-2 deficit in the World Series after losing 4 to 2.  Los Angeles will send Walker Buehler to the bump for game 3 in New York while the Yankees will counter with right-handed pitcher Clarke Schmidt in what will be another great game in what is shaping up to be a tight series that the Dodgers have control over as of now.
