Disappointment settles in with the Storm after losing to the New York Liberty 83-79

Seattle, WA- The Storm drops a much needed game to the New York Liberty to stay in the race for first place in the West.

After losing a game they needed this past weekend to stay in first place in the Western Conference, the Storm knew they needed a win over the New York Liberty to stay in the race for first place. Prior to the game, it was announced that for the second consecutive game that Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird was listed out of the line-up.

Outside of Jewell Loyd and Katie Lou, the Storm had a tough time find their offense the entire game. Collectively, Seattle was shooting around 45% from the field, but struggled hitting the three ball (34%). Outside of their lackluster offense, the Storm could not stop Rebecca Allen in the second half. Allen was torching Seattle from inside and out and put the Liberty on her back.

After getting themselves back into the game when it seemed like the Liberty was going to run away with the victory in the third, Seattle had a bit of hope going into the fourth. However, the hope disappeared like finding gold at the end of a rainbow. Seattle went on a four minute drought and finished the quarter only scoring seven points.

Lloyd finished with 35 points and four rebounds.
