Denver shocks Chiefs 24-9

Having held the Chiefs to 19 points two weeks ago, Denver's defense took a major step forward this week with its best performance this season. In addition to intercepting two Mahomes passes and forcing a couple of Kansas City fumbles, the Broncos' special team's unit also recovered a muffed punt that set up a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Moreover, Denver kept Kansas City out of the end zone on 11 of the Chiefs' drives, limiting the visitors to three field goals throughout the game.

As a result of their first win over the Chiefs in 2,965 days, the Broncos outplayed the Chiefs in every phase of the game. Afterward, they were serenaded off the field to Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” blaring throughout Empower Field to poke fun at Chiefs TE Travis Kelce. With a 24-9 win, the Broncos can look forward to their bye week.

In spite of the fact that Russell Wilson only threw 19 times, three of those completions were in the end zone. I would like to point out that these passes were given to receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, as well as to running back Javonte Williams, who rushed 27 times for 85 yards and caught three passes for 13 yards.

When asked about the win, Wilson simply replied, "We believe in who we are".

Mahomes experienced flu-like symptoms before the game. "I started feeling bad last night,” said Mahomes, who had a pedestrian day with a 59.2 passer rating, three sacks and two interceptions.
