Demi Moore gets her first Golden Globe

Whoever said that dreams do not come true. On Sunday, Demi Moore got a huge surprise and a standing ovation as she snagged her first Golden Globe for her role in The Substance. After the shock of winning, Morre gathered herself and gave an inspiring speech of overcoming obstacles in the industry.

"“Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a ‘popcorn actress.’ At that time, I made that mean that this wasn’t something I was allowed to have,” Moore said, clutching her trophy. “I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but I couldn’t be acknowledged. I bought in, and I believed that.”

"And so today, I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me, and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much."

Her message was pretty simple. Keep betting on yourself even though others may not. The Golden Globes kicked off Awards season.
