Dallas Wings’ Natasha Howard named Western Conference Player of the Week
The WNBA named their Western Conference Player of the Week today, and the majority of the votes went to Dallas Wings forward Natasha Howard. In the past week, Howard has averaged 23 points per game, 11.5 rebounds per game in addition to 2.8 assists per game. A showdown with first place Las Vegas Aces on July 7th displayed Natasha’s clutch performance from the free throw line by making two free throws to win the game late in the 4th quarter.
Her recent performance against the Minnesota Lynx was a shooting masterpiece by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. She went 2 for 3 from three-point range. Her recent improvements have catapulted the Dallas Wings to second place in the Western Conference and the sixth best record in the WNBA. Many media outlets consider Natasha Howard as a WNBA All-Star candidate and coaches in the WNBA have agreed that she deserves to be at the festivities at this year’s All-Star game. Natasha has shown out in multiple games this year. Her commitment to defense and rebounding has translated to the veteran helping Dallas win close games while shooting 44.6% from the field, and 29.1% from three-point range.
