Cowboys’ elite defense shuts down Giants' offense 40-0
Throughout the offseason the focus of discussion for the Dallas Cowboys was about Dak Prescott and the offense. What was always known was that the defense for Dallas was elite. The spotlight on Sunday Night Football was in the shape of a Dallas star with the Cowboys defense creating 3 turnovers and holding the Giants to 171 total yards.
Offensively, Dak Prescott threw for an efficient 13 of 24 completions for 143 yards. More importantly Prescott did not throw an interception and controlled an offense that saw four running backs accumulate 122 yards on 30 rushes. The New York Giants could not get their offense started and were blanked with turnovers and allowing points off of turnovers since the beginning of the first quarter. The Dallas Cowboys will now host the New York Jets for the home opener in Arlington, TX next Sunday afternoon. The New York Giants travel to Arizona to attempt to correct the errors and capture a road victory against the Cardinals.
