During the opening ceremony, you saw a fun and excited Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula enjoying the moment that they prayed about, as well as worked towards. Today, it was all business. Gauff and Pegula defeated Australia's Daria Saville and Ellen Perez 6-3 and 6-1.

In the first set, you could see the nerves in both of the Americans, but after a few points won, they were back to their confident selves. They had a few shots that were unforced, but other than that the game was just out of reach for the Australians
