Clemson's second half comeback was shot down by Texas

The Clemson Tigers was the underdogs against Texas and it kind of showed early in the first half. Texas was beating up on Clemson's defense and scored 28 points in the half. The once potential Heisman candidate in Cade Klubnik had a very slow get-up in his step. He was hurried often, sacked a few times and threw a pick when the Tigers looked like they were putting together a productive drive. Klubnik finished the half 12 of 19 for 117 yards, 1 pick, and 1 touchdown.

Coming out the locker room, the Tigers faced a big task with getting back in the game. The theme for the Tigers was not to rush the game and allow the game to come to them. Welp, I guess that went out the door because Klubnik was doing a bit too much and at times, putting the ball in places that could have been detrimental to their comeback The Tigers scored a much-needed touchdown late in the third quarter to cut down Texas lead. Heading into the fourth with nothing but faith and a QB that could sling the ball down the field with a clear pocket, the Tigers felt confident that they can make the game interesting.

The Tigers silently made a comeback and scored another touchdown with under nine minutes left in regulation to cut Texas' lead to a two-possession type of game. Things went south for the Tigers late in the fourth. Clemson went for it on a fourth and goal and was stuffed at the one-yard line. Clemson had one last gasp of air as they marched down the field to inch within a potential one-possession game. On a fourth and long, Clemson's chance at a comeback was shut down as Texas forced Klubnik to throw an incomplete pass. Texas went onto win 38-24

Klubnik finished with 336 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 pick
