Clemson's pro day saw impressive performances from potential NFL draftees

On Thursday, five of the seven players eligible for the 2025 NFL draft participated in Pro Day. Because of injuries, Phil Mafah and Marcus Tate were unable to participate
The 4.64 time that linebacker Barrett Carter ran in the 40-yard dash is considered quite respectable for a linebacker, showing a good combination of speed and agility. This time indicates that Carter can close gaps quickly and keep up with fast-moving plays, which is crucial for defensive success in the NFL. His speed, paired with his other skills, solidifies his potential to be an effective asset on the field.
TE Jake Briningstool who is Clemson's all-time leader in catches had a solid day with his former quarterback Cade Klubnik throwing to him. When I asked him which tight end, he patterned his game after, he replied to George Kittle. Kittles game as a complete tight end is something he loves and he thinks that he is one of the best in the game, especially in terms of his physicality. He will be an excellent addition to any NFL team's offense due to his size and pass catching ability
Safety R.J. Mickens ran a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, which was surprising since his speed has always been questioned. "Everyone thought I was slow. Everybody," Mickens said. "I don't know why, but I've always been overlooked and underestimated. It was great to be able to officially put some things out there, just to make a statement." His impressive 40-yard dash time is likely to shift the narrative and prove that his speed is an asset, not a liability. Scouts and coaches may now view Mickens with renewed interest, recognizing his ability to keep up with fast-paced plays and offering versatility in defensive strategies. This can potentially improve his draft stock and open up more opportunities for him in the NFL.
As a whole, it was an excellent outing for all the players. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors as they prepare to pursue their NFL dreams.
