Clemson has a special ingredient for success

Dabo Swinney believes he may have - kept secret in running back Gideon Davidson. In case you haven't heard of him yet, let me enlighten you.
A unanimous four-star recruit, and a top 70 national prospect regardless of position according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Davidson signed with Clemson this past December before enrolling early in January. As a member of Liberty Christian Academy in Virginia, Davidson led his team to a state championship for the second consecutive year in 2024 by finishing undefeated. Davidson had video game numbers for his career as he finished with 7,438 rushing yards on 701 career carries with 118 career rushing touchdowns. During his career, he also gained 606 yards from scrimmage and scored eight touchdowns on 43 catches, giving him 8,044 yards from scrimmage.
During his senior year in 2024, the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder was named the MaxPreps Virginia High School Football Player of the Year, and the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Virginia. Oh yea, I forgot to add that the kid has a 40-inch vertical!!!
From my own personal evaluation, the kid reminds me of a faster version of NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs. His exceptional speed, combined with his agility and strength, makes him a formidable force on the field who doesn't shy away from contact. With his impressive stats and accolades, Davidson is poised to make a significant impact at Clemson and potentially in the NFL.
Clemson's head coach Dabo Swinney praised the true freshman before spring practice began.
“He’s unique,” Swinney said. “He’s not a guy that sits around and waits to be led. He leads. He’s a leader. I mean, he doesn't know anything. He’s going to get out there and he’s going to be spinning around – this is still a high school kid rolling in here. But he’s just different.”
It will be exciting to see what this young man achieves in the future.
