Chiefs were shocked in a blowout loss to the Bucs in Super Bowl 55, 31-9

Kansas City- The Chiefs did not look like the Chiefs and suffered a shocking blowout loss to the Bucs.



Patrick Mahomes and the Mahomes' magic concluded with being either a repeated champion or defeated by Tom Brady and crew. All of the noise were final put to rest as both teams played for pride and a chance to hold the Lombardi trophy.


The Chiefs had a slow start in the first quarter. Mahomes overthrew a couple of his wide receivers and looked a bit nervous. After getting great field position, the Chiefs struck gold first with a 49-yard field goal by Harrison Butker to go up 3-0 over the Tampa Bay Bucs midway in the first. Tampa answered the call and scored a touchdown to go atop over the Chiefs, 7-3.


Kansas' secondary was getting kill by Brady and the Bucs early in the second quarter, but their defense came up huge on a fourth and goal, which stopped Tampa going up another score on them. Too many mistakes costs the Chiefs and Brady threw his second touchdown of the night to Rob Gronkowski with under eight minutes left in the second to extend their lead 14-3.


Mahomes got back to playing Chiefs' ball and hit a couple of his receivers to put the Bucs on their heels.Butker tacked on a field goal to cut the Bucs' lead to a one possession game, 14-6. A couple holding calls by the Chiefs helped the Bucs score their third touchdown of the game. The Chiefs trailed the Bucs 21-6.


Coming out the gate in the second half, the Chiefs hit a 50-yard field goal to try to inch themselves back in the game, 21-9. However, the Bucs just turned it on did not let Mahomes nor that high potent offense get going on the defensive end. The Chiefs struggled offensively and did not have an answer for the Bucs.
