Chiefs remain perfect after defeating the Patriots 26-10
Kansas City- The Chiefs remain unbeaten after defeating New England, 26-10.
After tacking on two field goals in the first half, Kansas City's offense stalled a bit. Patrick Mahomes was getting harassed by the Patriots' defense for majority of the first half The Chiefs had trouble with converting on third downs. They were 2 out of 6 with converting on third downs leading into the third quarter. The Chiefs potent offense was held under 175 yards late into the third quarter. Mahomes was over throwing his receivers and just did not look comfortable in the pocket.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Chiefs were making life for Brian Hoyer difficult. The Patriots was on the verge of scoring in the redzone, when Hoyer fumbled the ball. The Chiefs recovered the fumble and a few plays later Tyreek Hill scored the Chiefs first touchdown of the night, 13-3.
The Chiefs' defense on the ensuing drive gave up a touchdown to New England, which made it a three point game, 13-10. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs must have been feeling the magic because Mahomes threw a touchdown and a few minutes later, New England threw a pick six to put the Chiefs in the driver seat for the victory, 26-10. The Chiefs iced the game, as Rashad Fenton picked off Jarrett Stidham. With the win, the Chiefs broke NFL history with having four seasons with a 4-0 start.
