Chiefs recognizes high school coaches for the week
Kansas City- The Kansas City Chiefs will recognize Lee’s Summit West High School coach Vinny Careswell and Gardner-Edgerton High School coach Ryan Cornelsen.
Both of these coaches have done great jobs with their teams and exemplified what it means to be a leader on and off the field. Both coaches will receive $500 player health and safety grant from the Hunt Family Foundation, congratulatory footballs autographed by Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid, and a certificate recognizing their selection.
“Receiving the Chiefs Coach of the Week award is a great honor and testament to the Lee's Summit West coaching staff and players,” Careswell said. “Thank you to the Kansas City Chiefs organization for supporting high school football in the Kansas City area.
“It's a huge honor to be recognized by the Chiefs organization. It's really a testament to how hard our team and staff works each day,” Cornelsen said. “I know this award recognizes the head coach, but this isn't done without our entire team's efforts.”
Each week the Chiefs with recognize two high school coaches that demonstrates leadership qualities on and off the field.
