Caitlin Clark non-effective in loss to the Liberty 102-66
After Caitlin Clark's pro debut ended in a loss to the Sun, the Fever decided to look at the bright spots of Clark's game and how she opened up her teammates for good looks, while being double-teamed. Despite Clark having 10 turnovers, she put her teammates in good position to hit shots down the stretch in which they did not capitalize on.
On the other hand, they wanted her to let the game come more to her instead of forcing up shots. Clark and crew opened up their first home game of the season to New York Liberty and like their first game, New York battled tested Clark by throwing everything at her. Indiana had trouble stopping Breanna Stewart, and the puppet master in Sabrina Ionescu who were a menace of both sides of the ball. Both players took advantage of the smaller line-up of the Fever and was getting everything they wanted. At the end of break the Fever had to dig themselves out of a double- digit hole.
Clark somewhat hurt her team as she had to be a little more conservative as she picked up her fourth foul. For the most part, the Fever did not really have that align connection with each other and struggled to be effective with stopping Stewart. Stewart finished with 31 points, while Clark finished with 9 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds.
