Cade Klubnick sprints for 50-yard go-ahead touchdown
Cade Klubnick sprinted 50 yards for a go-ahead touchdown with 1:16 remaining as No. 17 Clemson fended off Pittsburgh 24-20 on Saturday. After a day of little ground gain, the Clemson quarterback tucked the ball and raced past a few stunned defenders to keep Clemson's hopes alive to reach the ACC championship game.
In all, Klubnick amassed 288 yards and two touchdowns through the air and 41 yards on the ground, with almost all positive yards coming after zigzagging through the Pitt secondary just 20 seconds after Ben Sauls kicked a 47-yard field goal for the Panthers. The Tigers' Antonio Williams caught 13 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Clemson needs No. 12 Miami to lose one of its final two games or No. 14 SMU must lose its last two games to reach the ACC title game on Dec. 7.
Klubnick's performance was a testament to his resilience and ability to deliver under pressure. His late-game heroics not only secured a crucial victory for Clemson but also kept their championship aspirations alive. Such moments highlight his potential as a playmaker and leader for the team. After yesterday's performance, he should be a Heisman finalist
