Bulldogs National Championship hopes comes to an end as the Fighting Irish pulls out the victory 23-10

After being postponed because of the New Years Eve incident where a vehicle drove into a crowd and injured 15 people, the Sugar Bowl was played on Thursday. Carson Beck, who is finished for the season with an elbow injury watched his Bulldogs struggle to find their rhythm and stride the entire game. The young QB in Gunner Stockton got the start and did n t have the start he wanted. He was hurried did not have much time throwing the ball down the field majority of the first half. With Notre Dame putting up points on Georgia, the Bulldogs had to opt out of running the ball to throwing the ball down the field, because they were down three possessions,

When it seemed like hope was lost and the Fighting Irish was going to put the muzzle on the game, Georgia got a much-needed touchdown in the third to make it a 10-point game. Momentum started to change for the Bulldogs after the touchdown, because the defense responded by stopping the Fighting Irish on a fourth and short. Nothing came out of the stop, but it was a morale boost for the once wounded Bulldogs.

Let's take it to the fourth. Down 23-10, the Bulldogs was forced to go for it on a fourth and short in the redzone. With all the pressure that the Irish brought, Stockton had no shot with getting the ball to his receiver in the endzone. That was basically the end of the game for the Bulldogs, because Notre Dame went down the field and bled the clock to advance to the Semifinals of the College Football Playoffs. Stockton finished the game 20 out of 32 for 234 and 1 touchdown.
