Boston have been eliminated by the Heat in Game 6, 125-113
Orlando- The Boston Celtics' Finals run has now ended, as the Miami Heat closes the book on the series and will play the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
Jaylen Brown went to work early and set the tone for the Celtics. Brown had 10 quick points in the first quarter and cut the Heats' lead to single digits. Marcus Smart was sizzling from behind the arc and gave the Celtics life from three point land. Smart hit five threes in the half to keep Boston within striking distance of the Heat. One of Boston's concerns was stopping Bam Adebayo. Adebayo was having himself a game in the half, as he scored 16 points and made it hard for the Celtics to guard him. At the end of the half, the Celtics cut the Heats' lead down to two, 62-60.
In the second half, the Celtics missed a couple of point blank shots, which the Heat took advantage of and went on a 15-5 run. Andre Iguodala was one of the key players that sparked the run. Iggy was 4 of 4 from behind the arc and was feeling it. The Celtics tightened up their defense and got back into the game with a couple of shots by Jayson Tatum late in the third quarter. With under .54 seconds left in the third, the Celtics went on an 8-2 run to cut the Heat's lead back to two at the end of the quarter, 88-86.
The Heat went on a 14-4 run to blow the game open late in the fourth and went on advance to the NBA Finals.
