Boston blew a chance to close out the series in Game 4

The Celtics had their brooms ready and their sights on another championship banner, as they had the Mavericks onto life support, heading into Game 4. For the first time this series, Boston lacked energy on both sides of the floor in the first quarter and the Mavericks took advantage. They scored 31 points in the quarter and had the Celtics on skates. The second quarter was a bit of an uneasy quarter for Boston. Their two superstars in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum was a non-factor as both of them combined for 24 points. Outside of that, they were shooting 29% from the field and was 5 of 19 from rainbow land.

After getting a beatdown in the first half, the Celtics knew that they had to be the aggressor in the second half, and it had to start with JT and JB. Like the first quarter, the Mavericks went for the kill switch and was hitting everything. It got to the point that the Celtics pulled out their starters at the start of the fourth. Dallas went on to extend the series and leaven another day with a 122-84 victory.
