Baltimore takes down the Chargers
After losing to the Steelers last week, Balitmore wanted to regroup and fix some of the mistakes that they had in the previous game. Penalties were the killers that halted drives, so heading into the Monday night game against the Charges, they wanted to keep drives going without shooting themselves in the foot.
In the first half, Baltimore only committed a few penalties, but their offense was a bit stagnant. Lamar Jackson really did not put his stamp on the half until midway in the second quarter. Down by 10 and needing some type of spark, King Henry and Jackson put on a running show in seven plays to put the Ravens on the board and cut the Chargers' lead to a field goal. I guess that touchdown gave Jackson confidence because he turned it loose on the Ravens next possession for a 40-yard TD pass and catch to Bateman to go up 14-13 at the end of the half.
For the most part, Baltimore was held in check until late i the third quarter, as they tacked on 10 points to extend their lead 23-16. Baltimore put the nail in the coffin with another touchdown to take the down the Chargers 30-23. Jackson finished with 177 yards through the air with 2 touchdowns and 17 yards on the ground. King henry placed the crown back on his head with a 140 rushing night.
