Angel McCoughtry keeps the Aces alive, as she gashes the sun with 29 points
Las Vegas- The Las Vegas Aces extends the series as they defeated the Connecticut Sun, 84-75.
In a game that they needed, the Aces had trouble stopping DeWanna Bonner in the first half. Bonner made it troublesome for the Aces to get in their sets on the offensive side of the floor, however Las Vegas adjusted in the second quarter. Aja Wilson was pushing the issue to be the aggressor. Every time she pent her defender on the low post, she demanded the ball. Another teammate that can to play was Angel McCoughtry. McCoughtry was active with her hands, as she had a couple of steals that lead to points for her team. McCoughtry was getting into the neck of the Suns' defense and was nailing her shots. Outside of McCoughtry and Wilson, the Aces bench contributed to some much needed points in the fist half. At the end of the break, the Sun had a 38-37 lead over the Aces.
McCoughtry was cooking the Sun in the second half, as she was scoring at will. She had 14 points in the third quarter and blew the lid open for the Aces . Going into the fourth, the Aces had a double digit cushion. Wilson and McCoughtry finished off the sun, after the Sun went on a 7-2 run to try to get back into the game. The Aces got the win and extends the game to a win or go home series.
