Aces secured playoff spot, handing the Dream a 93-72 nightmarish loss
Despite all of the adversity the Aces have faced in the last two weeks, Las Vegas continues to steamroll their opponents in a quest to break WNBA history. Even without Candice Parker in the lineup, Aja Wilson has continued her dominance and the emergence of an upcoming all-star in Jackie Young has kept this squad intact.
The first half of this game was a burst of runs by the Aces as Young got off to a very hot start. She was hitting everything from the parking lot and was not settling for just jump shots. Young was creating plays for her teammates, as well as pushing the pace of the game. She finished as the leading scorer for the Aces with 24 points. Wilson, who is known as Ms. consistent was every bit of that. Each time, it looked like the Dream was going to make a run, Wilson would either block a shot or hit a tough shot that swung the momentum back to Las Vegas. Wilson finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Las Vegas shot around 52% from the field and 48% from behind the arc. With the win over the Dream, the Aces have punched themselves a spot in the playoffs. Right now, it looks like they will be the overall number one seed, which would mean if it held up that they have an easier journey to get to the promised land of playing in another WNBA final. Only time will tell, but right now, the Aces are tugging on the historical line of breaking history for a WNBA team with record wins as well as repeating.
