Aces fall short in OT against the Mercury, 99-90
Las Vegas- Aces were defeated in overtime by the Phoenix Mercury.
With under two minutes left in regulation and the Aces down by two, Aja Wilson hit a mid-range jumper to tie the game up. Both teams could not get the ball in the net for the reminder of the game, which forced overtime.
In overtime, the Aces had trouble stopping the pick and roll action with Brittany Griner and Phoenix's guard play. Each time Wilson or Liz Cambage had to guard outside of the paint, Griner would take advantage and score. Griner had six points by herself in OT. Phoenix went on a 12-7 run to close out the game and hand the Aces another loss.
Cambage finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds
Wilson finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds
