Aces blows right through the Fever 87-71
Vegas- The Aces blow right through the Fever 87-71.
With chasing the NO:1 seed down, the Las Vegas Aces had to take care of business against the Indiana Fever. The start of the first quarter was played at a very energetic pace without much defense. Liz Cambage, Aja Wilson and Riquna Williams got to their spots on the floor and sunk in some shots, which was a good sign for those three players.
Early in the second, while Wilson was sitting on the bench with two fouls, the Aces went on a 13-5 run to build a 20 point lead. Collectively, the Aces was very effective with forcing the Fever to take bad shots early in the shot clock and was taking advantage of the size difference inside the paint. The Aces walked into the locker room up big 50-31.
In the second half, it look like the Aces was going to just blow the game wide open, but turnovers gave the Fever some type of hope and confidence that they could get back in the game. The Aces let the Fever go on a 14-5 run, but did just enough to hold off a comeback to continue their quest for first place.
